POSTPONED: Dec. 7 mobilization on the FOI bill

The scheduled mobilization for the passage of the Freedom of Information bill today (Dec. 7) is postponed to an indefinite date in view of the declaration of Martial Law in Maguindanao.

Based on the Constitution the Congress will have to go into a joint session which is scheduled on Tuesday to take up the Martial Law declaration. This presents various practical problems for our rally -- the joint session will not take up anything else but the matter of the Martial Law declaration; it will be difficult to get an audience with any of the senators as their attention will be focused on the declaration; and its venue is usually the Batasan and not in the Senate building.

Kindly wait for further announcement. Thank you for your support!
